Built at the same time as my Hasegawa F/A-18D is this F/A-18C Hornet from the same company. It's basically the same kit with a different upper fuselage and canopy, and the same construction comments apply. As with the D-model, I blanked off the intake ducts with black-painted plastic card to prevent see-through, and made some small modifications to make the model accurate (no fin reinforcements, swept blade antennae, removal of the antennae beneath the intakes). The model is finished with the kit decals which were printed by Cartograf. They were fine, but some of the smaller ones silvered (my fault again!). The ordnance is from Hasegawa weapon sets and I'll add some JDAMS once I've painted them. I managed to attach the cluster bomb units wonky, doh! Nice kit, not easy, but makes a good end product. I finished it in Winter 2003.
